Video Blogging - The Good And Not So Good, But Worth It

By Geronimo Rubio

Creating videos to advertise products or services has become one of the biggest industries to hit the web. There are a lot of people out there who just don’t want to read long posts of text and getting your message across in a 2 to 4 minute video works very well on the net. Not only can you explain your product in detail but you can give the consumer visuals of how it works and will help them in life. And the consumer can relax while watching your video and not get sleepy reading through hundreds of written words which could take them more than 2 to 4 minutes to read.

A video blog allows you to insert yourself, nice relaxing or exciting music and  visuals of your product within a short time frame. But this is why your video blog must be spectacular in order to grab the attention of your potential consumer. But sometime to flashy or fast loud music could hurt you. You are looking for a compromise between exciting and captivating your audience.

Video blogging has many advantages over text based blogs, which is why this new form of blogging is exploding all over the world. And now there are many sites that you can submit your video blog to for free and get traffic right to your site & products. And if your viewers get excited with your video they will go to your site. Now at your site they find lots of great information which makes them enthusiastic about spreading the word of mouth to friends, colleagues and again, potential consumers to you.

It takes longer to submit your video blog to sites (Especially if your on a slow connection) because of the size of the file your uploading. And 3. They can take awhile to load because of the size and could frustrate your viewers who may be on a slow connection. It doesn’t matter whether its a opt-in page or direct connect to the video.

1.I don’t recommend (Now that I have researched it a bit more) that your video be longer than 4 minutes unless your teaching or giving a course on something. 2 Minute videos seem to work very well.

2.Make sure that you put the most important aspects of your service or product in the video to enable the captured attention of your audience. And make sure your visual content (Pictures etc.) are relative and helpful in explaining the product or service.

3.Depending on your subject or niche, make sure the music is relative to what your promoting. I am sure you can figure this out pretty easily.

4.If your including yourself in the video, smile and be very personal with your viewers. Create a relationship with them.

5.And most important, make sure you provide a visual of your link in the video 2-3 times, and that you “voice it out” (
